Philosophy

They say that to a man with a hammer, every problem looks like a nail. As a man with a legal education and a litigation background, I still work to avoid the pitfall of advising that every problem should be resolved with a lawsuit. This Firm was founded on the ideal of working with you to take a broader view of your personal life or business and fashion the legal remedies I can provide to fit with your personal and/or business goals - and often those goals do not include lengthy engagement in legal matters. While I may be in the business of working on legal issues, you are not, and I hope to minimize the negative impact that necessary legal representation could have on your life or business. Allow me to provide the legal counsel and representation you need to ensure that your attorney becomes just one more tool at your disposal.

Professional Experience

If you would like more information regarding his practice experience, Eric will be more than happy to provide a more detailed breakdown of his career as it relates to the assistance you need and the goals you would like to achieve.

Everything about Eric’s legal career has been directed toward learning more about the law, its practice, and its effect on the lives of the clients that are at the center of every legal dispute. His career began with his first position after law school as a judicial clerk working with a Third District Illinois Appellate Court judge, researching and writing the legal opinions that guide litigators and provide trial court judges a basis for their rulings.

His next two positions -first with a small law firm and then with a large nationwide firm in its Chicago Loop office - provided significant experience in both trial and appellate work, as Eric conducted numerous bench and jury trials in Illinois and Iowa courts; handled significant motions practice and discovery in Federal courts; handled appeals in Illinois and federal courts (including oral argument before the Seventh Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals); worked on sophisticated and complex commercial litigation matters in Illinois, Iowa, Michigan, and Wisconsin; and developed his ability to handle cases from beginning to end. For nearly a decade before opening his own practice, Eric then continued to provide business and individual clients assistance with complex and interesting civil litigation and appeals with a sophisticated business law firm located in Lisle, Illinois.

Eric’s professional experience has made him uniquely suited to provide timely, effective, and personal legal advice, counseling, and representation crafted to provide you the assistance you need while helping you achieve your personal or business goals.
